Youth Ministry Director
Reese Popst was born in Dallas and grew up attending St. Andrew. After graduating high school from Plano West, he attended Texas A&M, earning degrees in both accounting and finance. During his time in college, Reese served as the Youth Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Caldwell, Texas. After A&M, he earned his CPA license and since then has worked in public accounting, performing both financial audits and acquisition due diligence work. All the while, he has stayed connected to ministry, looking for the right opportunity to respond to what he has always loved and feels called to do: teaching others about Jesus.
While in the 9th grade on a trip with the youth group at St. Andrew, Reese came to know the Lord in a personal way and quickly fell in love with both studying scripture and teaching others about Jesus Christ. This love for teaching has grown since high school from a passion and into a calling into ministry. Reese believes that the time between the 6th and 12th grade is when young people begin to further critically develop their understanding and beliefs about both themselves and the world around them. He believes that these years are also the most crucial times for spiritual formation, where we learn to see everything, including ourselves, through the lenses of the gospel of Christ. Reese married Marynell Popst on May 4, 2013.Contact: 214-291-8035.
