Our Five Year Plan
I. Establish our identity as a discipling congregation. Our vision is to make disciples. And this should become our major priority--to see lives being touched and transformed by a relationship with Jesus Christ. If this is being accomplished, one person at a time, our reputation should take on such an identity as a church.
II. Establish a faith-based wellness center. As a church, we want to see supernatural transformation in people's lives not only spiritually but also emotionally, vocationally and financially. We want to be known as a church that ministers to the whole person, bringing healing and unity to our souls. And, thus, we will become a light to the world around us.
III. Plant a new church. Our mission should not just stop at the doors of our church alone. The first century church had a mission to not only make disciples, but also to expand this mission in Jerusalem (in their community), Samaria (in their neighboring communities) and the uttermost parts of the earth (in other countries and regions). We want to see this same vision impact other communities as well through the mission of starting new churches. Within five years, we want to start at least one new church and then develop a strategy to begin a new congregation every 3-5 years.
IV. Establish our identity as a teaching congregation. Christ's commission to "go and make disciples" was framed through the method of teaching others to follow all that He had taught them to establish in their own lives. Discipleship must be built upon the foundation of teaching -- the kind of teaching that leads others to follow God's Word and His Spirit in their lives. Our identity must be based upon nothing different...to become a teaching congregation leading others to see their minds renewed and lives transformed.
