St. Andrew United Methodist Church offers financial assistance to those who meet our eligibility requirements. Our goal is to help those who want to improve their life situation, and we offer several classes and workshops to aid in this goal. Depending on your circumstances, you may be required to attend one or more of these before financial assistance will be made available.
Our Service Area includes the following zip-codes: 75093, 75287, and 75252. St Andrew offers assistance to any applicant family only once in a 12-month period.
Other qualifications for assistance include (but are not limited to):
- Applicant must have applied for assistance through the appropriate county agency (Collin County Assistance Center for all residing in Collin County).
- Applicant must provide a valid Texas driver’s license or State ID card.
- Applicant must provide proof of current residence (copy of lease, utility bill, etc).
- All applicants must schedule a personal interview with our case worker. These appointments are available on Wednesdays between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.
If you are seeking assistance with rent:
- You must provide your lease agreement for us to photocopy.
- St. Andrew will consider only a portion of the amount due.
- You must provide proof of payment for the remaining portion of your balance from commitment promises you have received from other charitable institutions.
- Your application will be not processed until all documentation has been provided by you.
If you are seeking assistance with utilities:
- You must provide your current statement for us to photocopy.
Our application process time is 7-8 days:
- Wednesday – applications are received.
- Thursday – applications are reviewed by our Pastors. You will be contacted by phone of our decision by 5:00 pm.
- Friday – request for checks are submitted to our Finance Ministry.
- The following Thursday – checks are released. You will be contacted by phone to schedule a time for pick-up.
- We are not able to provide funds at any other times than listed above.
