Acolytes

Acolytes are an important part of our worship service. At the beginning of the service, acolytes light the altar candle to symbolize that Jesus is present with the community. At the end of the service, acolytes take the flame and carry it out of the sanctuary to symbolize the faithful taking Christ’s message to the world.

Students in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades who would like to serve as acolytes are encouraged to contact Bryna Garrison or Kathryn McFearin. While acolytes, participating students need only serve on  Sunday mornings once every two months, plus one Saturday night per semester.  Come help us create symbolism and a spirit of reverence in our worship!
