St. Andrew will be closed Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. Church offices will re-open Tuesday, May 28.
“A Salute to America” Picnic & Free Concert
Sunday, May 26, 5:30 p.m. Picnic by the Creek, 7:00 p.m. Sanctuary Concert
The community is invited to “A Salute to America” Memorial Day weekend free concert and family picnic. Picnic begins at 5:30 p.m. near the creek, and the concert begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
Attendees are invited to bring a picnic supper, and St. Andrew will provide lemonade as well as games for children, including duck races at the creek. The concert will feature the St. Andrew Chancel Choir and Imperial Brass, performing a variety of patriotic and Americana music. A military honor guard will provide the presentation of the flags, and a special invitation is extended to all veterans as each branch of the military will be recognized during the program. Children will be invited to come forward during one of the concert pieces, waving American flags that will be given to them.

Communion Help is Needed
First Sunday of Each Month
Communion servers are needed for the 11:00 a.m. worship service on the first Sunday of each month. No prior experience needed; expert training will be provided. Contact: Rev. Steve Robertson, 214.291.8046.

All students will begin attending their new small groups. What this means is that all students will attend the classroom that they will be in for the 2013/2014 school year.
Summer Fun Days
We are full for Summer 2013. Here is the information so you can plan for next summer.
Join us for Summer Fun Days filled with crafts, music, Bible stories, and more for children ages 6 months to 6 years. Scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Wednesday, May 29 and ending on Wednesday, August 14 (excluding VBS week and the week of July 4). Cost is $25 for the first child and $5 for each additional child. This year we are limiting the number of dates per family to 8 to allow for more families to enjoy the fun. Vacation Bible School at St. Andrew
Turn It Up! VBS
June 24-28, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Open to students age 4 thru rising 5th grade All Students MUST be 4 as of September 1,2012. $20 for first child,$15 for second child,$10 for third child and $5 for a fourth child.“Turn It Up” is a five-day VBS that takes a journey through the Bible, giving kids context for God's Big Story. Summer Camps At St Andrew
Drama Camp
July 8-19, 9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Ages rising 3rd-rising 5th grade. $150.00 per child. Children will learn music,choreography and staging. Auditions will be held June 17 from 5pm-7pm in Andy's Place. Children will be expected to be "off book" (all lines and music memorized) by the first day of camp. Camp is on a first come first serve basis with limited space. Science Camp
July 22-26, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Ages rising K-rising 5th grade. $90 per child. The students will travel the world of science through the 5 senses (sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste). This camp is designed for students to investigate, observe, create, and build an appreciation of the world of science. Please have students wear comfortable clothing that can get messy.

Movie Madness
August 7, 14 and 21, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Ages rising K-rising 5th grade. $25 for the first child and $5 for each additional child. Pixar Animation Studios has taken American cinema by storm. Their movies are both highly entertaining and surprisingly wise. This afternoon camp will watch a Pixar movie and have a devotion about the movie with a Christian perspective.

Wrestling with the "Big Questions"

Youth Sunday School for grades 6-12. Each week we will be examining how the Bible answers some of the Big Questions that youth "wrestle" with on a daily basis.

We're going to New Orleans! In coordination with the Epworth Project, we will work on rebuilding projects throughout the greater New Orleans area. We will travel by charter bus and stay at Aldersgate UMC in Slidell. Discounted rate of $375 through May 5th. Normal rate of $425 beginning May 6th. Last day to register is May 26th. Cost covers everything except 6 travel meals (total cash needed for travel meals = $50)
Covenant Group
What is a Covenant Group? Covenant groups are small groups of guys or girls all of the same age and gender that come together and meet on a regular (weekly) basis. They have one (or two) primary leader(s) who are committed to setting a Godly example and pouring into the lives of the youth in their group. The groups are structured around the Bible and creating strong, authentic Christian fellowship among group members.
