A powerful musical worship experience celebrating the Lordship of Jesus Christ on this final Sunday of the Christian year; includes the dramatic reading of the names of Christ from each book of the Bible.

Annual Church Conference

Sunday, November 16, 2:30 p.m., Festival Hall

All are invited to 1) celebrate the ministries and mission of the congregation, 2) elect church officers and leaders for 2015, 3) worship through song, and 4) lift up our church’s mission and people through prayer and intercession. Childcare available.

Musical Favorites of the Season from Choirs, Bells, and Orchestra

Sunday, December 14, 4:00 & 7:00 p.m.
Outdoor Live Nativity, 5:45-6:45 p.m.

This exciting event will be a musical extravaganza of traditional and contemporary holiday favorites featuring choirs, bells, professional orchestra, and the ever-popular carol sing. Doors will open 30 minutes before each show. Tickets can be purchased here or by calling 469-385-1810. People needing handicap assistance or special seating can call or email tickets@standrewumc.org.

We are also excited to announce the addition of a live outdoor nativity between concerts, 5:45-6:45 p.m.

A Christmas Party Big Enough for the Entire Family!

Wednesday, December 3 

5:00-6:15 p.m., Dinner and Family Crafts
6:30-7:30 p.m., Family Experience

Come for the spaghetti dinner and fun family crafts! You can make a plate and an Advent wreath. Dinner will be offered at $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children with a family max of $20.00. The "Make a Plate" will be $7.00 each. Click here to register for both.

After dinner and crafts we will head over to Smith Worship center for the 6:30 p.m. performance of the Jingle Jam Family Experience.

Children’s Music Ministry

All children Kindergarten-5th grade are invited to sing in children’s choirs! 3rd-5th graders are invited to ring in chime choir! Join the fun as we lead worship with music. Kindergarten: JoNell Lindh; 1st & 2nd grade: Brenda Potter; 3rd-5th grade: Claire McNeill. Click here for more information.

Youth

Poinsettia Sales

Students can sell poinsettias to earn money towards the ski trip until November 11. Cost is $15. Students earn $8 for every poinsettia they sell. Poinsettias may be picked up on November 24 from the Youth Commons area. Order forms and instructions for selling may be picked up in the youth office. You can also purchase at the tables that will be set up outside Smith Worship Center, the bookstore, and in the Youth Rotunda on October 26, November 2, and November 9 before and after the services. Proceeds from these sales go to the general youth scholarship fund.

Ski Trip 2014

Ski Trip Registration is now closed! We are accepting registrations for the waiting list at this time. Register for the waiting list by clicking here. If you need to make a payment, you can do so by clicking here or by mailing or bringing in a check to the church. All payments and forms are due by December 5.

Covenant Groups

Covenant groups are small groups of guys or girls all of the same age and gender that come together and meet on a regular (weekly) basis. They have one (or two) primary leader(s) who are committed to setting a Godly example and pouring into the lives of the youth in their group. The groups are structured around the Bible and creating strong, authentic Christian fellowship among group members.

Joseph's Coat Giveaway

Saturday, November 8, 9:00 a.m.-.Noon, Smith Worship Center

Joseph’s Coat will distribute coats to over 950 children in the community on Saturday, November 8 from 9:00 a.m.-noon. Recipients must be registered food pantry clients by October 11, 2014.

DONATE! You can help Joseph's Coat by donating new or gently used (like new) children's coats for boys and girls. Go to our wish list we have created through Amazon to purchase coats individually and have them shipped directly to Seven Loaves Community. If you have a Prime Account with Amazon the shipping will be free. Click here to view a list of items needed. Donation deadline is Wednesday, November. 5.

Items can be dropped off in the marked bins located in Youth Commons or the outdoor donation bin at the north end of the parking lot off Mira Vista Blvd.

Seven Loaves Community is collecting items for the Thanksgiving Food Distribution Day that takes place on Friday, November 21. Drop your donations off in the marked bins located in the Youth Commons area. Donation deadline is Monday, November 17.

Christmas Gift Card Drive

Seven Loaves Community is collecting $10 Target and Walmart gift cards for Christmas to distribute to our Food Pantry clients’ children. Gift cards can be placed in kiosk mail slot located in the Mission Center or contact the Missions office during office hours at 214-291-8038.
