Children’s Music

Cherub Choir

Kindergarten students and first graders make up this ensemble. They sing once or twice a semester in worship. This group enjoys exploring the basic musical concepts to begin their musical journey like steady beat, soft and loud, high and low. They explore the gift of music while having fun and learning. The Cherub Choir rehearses on Sundays, 4:30-5:30 p.m. in room 221.

Celebration Choir

This ensemble is for second and third graders. They sing two or more times in worship in a semester and participate in A St. Andrew Christmas. This choir also attends an annual festival. In this choir, the children begin to learn some music theory and explore healthy choral concepts. They rehearse 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Sundays in room 218.

Carol Choir

This ensemble is comprised of children in 4th and 5th grades. They sing often in worship, as well as outside of St. Andrew and in A St. Andrew Christmas. This group not only practices music theory and part singing but also has opportunities to play rhythm instruments as they grow in their musical knowledge. Carol Choir rehearses in room 218 on Sundays, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Children’s Chime Choir

The Children’s Chime Choir offers children in grades 3, 4, and 5 an opportunity to explore instrumental music and basic music theory. Rehearsing on Sunday afternoons during the school year immediately preceding Children’s Choir allows for convenient participation in both groups. We play three octaves of Malmark Choir Chimes and ring for the Children’s Christmas and spring programs. If possible, we also schedule a time to play for a worship service during the year.
