Registration

Formal registration is held each year in late January and is a lottery system. After formal registration is complete, positions are filled as they become available from the wait list and incoming registration forms. Children are accepted regardless of the child’s race, color, national origin, or sex. During formal registration everyone who completes and returns their registration information by the January deadline will be grouped with those of equivalent age and priority level. The priority levels that will be used to fill the classes are as follows:

Level 1 ~ Children currently in the program have first priority and are guaranteed a place in the Program for the following year, except for classes that offer a limited number of spaces.
Level 2 ~ Children of St. Andrew UMC full time staff members.
Level 3 ~ Siblings of returning and exiting 4-year-old and Pre-K students whose parents are church members as of the last day of the month of the previous church calendar year (December 31).
Level 4 ~ Siblings of returning and exiting 4-year-old and Pre-K students whose parents are not church members.

Level 5 ~ Children of church members as of the last day of the previous church calendar year, who have been on the wait list since the last registration.

Level 6 ~ New children of parents who are church members as of the last day of the previous church calendar year.
Level 7 ~ New children of parents who have become members since the last day of the previous church calendar year.
Level 8 ~ Children of non-church members who have been on the wait list since the last registration.

Level 9 ~ New children of non-church members. The registration process is noted below:

  1. Everyone must complete and return their registration form to the CWP Director by noon on January 27, 2012. Registration packets will be available in the CWP office January 23-January 27, 2012. Remember there is no advantage in turning in the registration early in the lottery system.
  2. Classes will be filled based on the above priority levels. When there are more children than spaces available, a lottery system will be used to determine placement. Likewise, if more children request a specific day, than there are spaces available, a lottery will be used to determine who is placed in the class.
  3. Parents will be notified if they do NOT get the requested place for their child. Actual class and teacher assignments will be made at a later date. CWP will attempt to place siblings in classes on the same day.
  4. Registration fees are not due until you are notified and offered a position in a class.
