Children’s Department Volunteer Opportunities
"Will you nurture these children in Christ's Holy church, that by your teaching and your example they may be guided to accept God's grace for themselves, to profess their faith openly, and to lead a Christian life?"
The above statement is part of the baptismal vow that you took when your child was baptized in the church. You have an amazing opportunity to fulfill those vows, and to directly influence their spiritual growth and development. We are giving you the chance to be as involved in your child's spiritual growth as you are in their personal, academic, and extracurricular growth.

Nursery: Infants - 2 Years
9:30 and 11:00 a.m.
Even the youngest child will experience God's love through our caring, safe and nurturing nursery environment. Nursery care is offered during all worship services and is provided by both paid child care providers and parent volunteers.

Preschool: 3 Years-Kindergarten
9:30 and 11:00 a.m.
Teachers work as a pair to lead the class. You can work with another pair of teachers and rotate. You can teach for a month at a time or even a semester at a time. You are asked to secure a substitute volunteer if you will be unable to attend on Sunday. You will receive the curriculum at the beginning of each week you are teaching, allowing time for you to review the curriculum and be fully prepared on Sunday. All supplies are provided in your classroom. Teachers need to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of your class to set out supplies and prepare the classroom for students. Volunteers will also commit to care for and pray for the students in their classes.

Elementary: 1st-5th Grades
9:30 a.m.
We want our volunteers to be small group leaders for our children! A small group leader: serves as the primary role model for the same group of eight to ten kids, they help to reinforce the Bible story and scripture, and help the children learn to apply the lesson to their own lives. You will receive the curriculum at the beginning of each week you are teaching, allowing time for you to review the curriculum and be fully prepared on Sunday. All supplies are provided in your classroom. Teachers need to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start of your class to set out supplies and prepare the classroom for students. Volunteers will also commit to care for and pray for the students in their class.

Gary’s Angels: Special Needs Ministry
9:30 and 11:00 a.m.
We have a team of dedicated adults but our ministry is growing and we need additional people to join us! There is an established rotation so you can volunteer as much or as little as your schedule allows. This is an amazing group of kids and your life will be richly blessed by your involvement in this ministry.

Elevate Team
11:00 a.m.
With high energy worship, lessons and activities, Elevate Worship is an exciting worship service for children. Children will have the opportunity to be in the service with their parents until 11:15 a.m., then they will be dismissed to go be a part of a 'children's church' time where they will engage in a program that is relatable to them. Children will find that Elevate Worship is a place designed just for them; where they feel included, interested, and excited in all the fun the service has to offer. The goal at Elevate Worship is to engage children in an interactive worship experience that combines important elements of worship and a creative style to enable children to learn about God's word. Elevate Worship is a unique way to reach the children at St. Andrew in ways that are relevant to the them.
Volunteers will assist with Elevate Worship during the 11:00 hour.

Sunday School Greeters
9:30 and 11:00 a.m.
Hospitality is important in the vitality of the church. We want to extend a warm wlcome to visitors and guests of St. Andrew. Greeters assist in the halls in either the Preschool or Elementary areas to guide new families. Greeters need to arrive 15 minutes prior to each Sunday School hour. A team rotation will be established.
