Our goal in the Children’s Ministry at St. Andrew is to provide opportunities for our children to grow in God’s grace through quality education, fellowship, and mission activities. From loving nurseries, to fun and meaningful Sunday School and dynamic summer programs, we seek to meet the spiritual needs of all children. It is our hope that children and their families will come to know and share the love of God.

nfants Through 2 Years

Even the youngest lambs will experience God's love through our caring, safe and nurturing nursery environment. Each of our nursery rooms are staffed with both paid child care providers and parent volunteers. Nursery care is offered during all worship services and weekly activities with advanced reservations.

Anytime your child will be cared for in our nursery please provide and label appropriate items such as diapers, change of clothing, bottles and or/cups. At your child's appropriate room you will be issued a numbered pager, that number will be written on your child's name tag. No child will be released to anyone other than a parent with the corresponding numbered pager.

Please do not bring your child to the nursery unless they have been free from the following symptoms for at least 24 hours: vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, any excessive nasal drainage, coughing and fever of 100.

We will never stop colds or the flu, but we will try and make you child's class an ideal place to catch the joy of Christ!

Two Year Olds

We offer Sunday school for two year olds at both the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning worship services.

Each Sunday School class is staffed with both paid staff and parent volunteers. At your child's appropriate room you will be issued a numbered pager, that number will be written on your child's name tag. No child will be released to anyone other than a parent with the corresponding numbered pager.

It's children coming to know the love of God through Jesus.

It's music, art, theater, dance, laughter, discussion, imagination, education, hand-on activities, worship and Bible stories.

It's helping the students grown as children of God by taking what they learn from Sunday School into their everyday lives.

Early Elementary

Grades 1-3

9:30 a.m. ~ Workshop Rotation

Our elementary children learn through a rotation workshop model. The same Bible story or theme is taught for a month. Each week children experience the lesson in a different way. Through drama, games, art, cooking, music, science, or cinema, we reach many children through various learning styles. Children meet in designated workshop rooms from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Please check the “Where Do I Go” board outside Andy’s Place (Room 218) to find your child’s classroom. After the lesson, children gather in Andy’s Place (Room 218) for worship and praise time. Children remain in Andy’s Place until parents arrive for pick-up.

11:00 a.m.

Children participate in a more traditional Sunday School format. The interactive Bible lessons allow children to creatively engage in activities that are appropriate for their own skill level within a multi-age level classroom. Children gather in Andy’s Place (Room 218) for praise and worship time. At 11:15 a.m. children go to designated classrooms for the lesson. The 1-2 grade meet in Room 221 and 3-5 grade meet in Room 220. Children remain in their individual classrooms until parents arrive for pick-up.

Older Elementary

Grades 4 & 5

9:30 a.m.

Our older elementary children explore the Bible and discover new truths about God and about themselves. They will explore ancient lands, people, and promises that have a direct connection to who they are and how they practice their faith today. While on a scavenger hunt through the Bible, they will learn the ancient stories of our faith and see the connections between Bible figures and their stories. They will learn more about the real struggles of what it means to be faithful. The children will meet in Andy’s Place (Room 218) for a combined group lesson. After the large group time, the classes dismiss with small group leaders for discussion time. Following small group time the children go to Room 217 until parents arrive for pick-up at 11:00 a.m.

11:00 a.m.

4 and 5 grade children participate in a more traditional Sunday School format. The interactive Bible lessons allow children to creatively engage in activities that are appropriate for their own skill level within a multi-age level classroom. Children gather in Andy’s Place (Room 218) for praise and worship time. At 11:15 a.m. children go to designated classrooms for the lesson. The 3–5 grade meet in Room 220. Children remain in their individual classrooms until parents arrive for pick-up.
