United Methodist Men (UMM) is about Christian men’s growth through service, learning and fellowship. This ministry is established to awaken, inspire, challenge, train, and support men as they strive to become more Christ-like in their daily living. Our primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in all their relationships. The focal points of UMM are:
- Encourage the knowledge of and support for the total mission of the United Methodist Church.
- Clarify and speak to the identity and role of the Christian man in contemporary society
- Seek commitment to Christian discipleship
Our Mission
A primary mission of St Andrew's UMM is our “Messenger of Hope” Scholarship Fund, which was founded to award scholarships each year to help students in economic need achieve their college or post-education goals. We have raised over $85,000 for deserving college students. The scholarship fund is primarily funded through events hosted by UMM.
Our annual fund raising “Messenger of Hope” College Scholarship Golf Tournament was held September 19 at The Golf Club at Castle Hills in Lewisville. This event is open to the entire church community, friends, and co-workers! To play or be a sponsor next year, contact Greg Gilbert at 972-447-4972.
The following information and application form are provided for use by UMM who are serving as liasons with local high schools and community organizations in order to encourage scholarship applicants.
When Do United Methodist Men Meet?
Join us for our regular meetings at 8:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month in Piro Hall, which is located downstairs on the Terrace Level northeast of the sanctuary. Please join us for good fellowship, breakfast, a spirited program and information on upcoming mission opportunities.
