.: Missions Opportunities
PROJECT TRANSFORMATION is an eight week Christian summer day camp for inner-city children that is facilitated by college interns and urban-suburban partner Methodist churches. This program was founded in 1998 by Rev. Leighton Farrell. This is St. Andrew’s fourth year to partner with Project Transformation and we need your help!
Volunteers are needed to read with the kids at Walnut Hill UMC from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., June 23-26. Fifteen volunteers are needed each day.
We also need volunteers to prepare food for the 100 college interns in the dining hall of their SMU dormitory on Wednesday, July 16. The food would be brought to St. Andrew that day and then our delivery crew would take it to SMU.
Sign-ups for both of these opportunities are located in the MISSION CENTER or by contacting Eric and Kris Roberson at ekroberson@yahoo.com or 972-612-3499.
Explore and learn more about community and global mission opportunities here at SAUMC. Talk with St. Andrew members about how to get involved! It’s a great way to learn and investigate the possibilities. If you are a Sunday school leader we can arrange to have a representative come and speak to your class on that day. To reserve a speaker email Cindy Flora at cflora@standrewumc.org.
Join
hundreds of St. Andrew members as we spend a few hours in the spring of each year and volunteer to help with a variety of agencies around
the metroplex. There are projects for painting and carpentry,
landscaping and cleaning, projects for your children, and more.
We will meet at the church on a Saturday morning for a
light breakfast and a devotional sendoff. Please stop by the
Mission Center (across from the bookstore) for more
information about this annual project.
