Sending A Little Of "Home" To Our Troops
Veterans will tell you the one thing they looked forward to when serving away from home was mail. Letters and packages mean so much. For a few moments they are able to connect with family and friends and the country left behind. This holiday season, please take the time to send a card, letter, or even a package to one or several of the volunteer soldiers listed. You can read a short biography on each and choose.
St. Andrew ADOPT-A-FAMILY for Christmas

Food4Kids Program Needs Weekday Volunteers
Kids go home from PLANO SCHOOLS hungry with no expectation of dinner or breakfast before they return to school the next day – and weekends are horrible. THERE IS HOPE through a great program that works on solving the problem . The North Texas Food Bank has a “food back pack program” called “Food 4 Kids”. Problem – no one was picking up and distributing to the PISD schools!
St Andrew has stepped forward to take on this responsibility. So here is where you come in – N Tx Food Bank and the schools do most of the work – we just need volunteers to go to the food bank and distribute the packs to the schools. It would be day-time work so kids have the packs to go home. It would be certain days in the week, but not all days. We are looking for a volunteer coordinator and many volunteers to share the load.
Please contact Janet Collinsworth jcollinsworth(at)standrewumc.org immediately if you can volunteer.
