Infant Baptism

As you begin to consider baptizing your child, the following information can serve as a guide as you explore this sacred event in the life of the congregation. Baptism is one of the great joys we share as a congregation, and we look forward to sharing this “God moment” with you and your family.

Baptisms are done on any Saturday/Sunday of the month except the first Saturday/Sunday. We do not want to have to rush through a baptism, and with the first Sunday of the month being Communion Sunday, there is not as much time available for the baptismal moment. You may choose to have your child baptized in any of the worship services on Saturday night or Sunday morning.

When you are ready to schedule a date, contact Janie Owens in the church office.  You can schedule as far in advance as you would like, but we ask that families schedule a baptism at least two weeks before the selected Sunday. Families will need to attend a Baptism Class prior to the selected date. For more information, please click here. If you are not members of the church already, you will need to join. Contact  Kate Huber for information on the Path to Membership offered six times a year.

Contact Rev. Jennifer Arnold for questions concerning meaning and practice of baptism.

Adult Baptism

If you have not been baptized, but would like to join St. Andrew, we'd love to help you take this important step. If you would like to be baptized but have hesitated because you don't want to be baptized at the front of the church with the babies, we completely understand! It is affirming to all of us when adults step forward during the service to accept the gift of God's grace through water and the spirit, but we can also arrange for a baptism in the Chapel if you prefer, with family, friends and other church members who want to support you. If you believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as your Savior, we invite you to be part of a brief ceremony of this outward symbol of God's inward love for us. Please let us know if you're interested.
