Please consider volunteering and getting involved in one or more of the following areas. If you are interested, please contact Kay Richardson at krichardson(at)standrewumc.org or 214-291-8093. Thank you!

One-time Opportunity

Easter Ushers

Over 5000 people will worship at St. Andrew that day! Extra ushers are desperately needed and appreciated! Services are 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. You may choose a particular service or services. Training is provided.

Ushers

Ever looked at one of our fine ushers and thought, “I could do that”? You can and now is your chance. We need extra ushers for the Travelers’ services and all the Easter services. Training is provided. Contact Ray Ogden at wrogden1(at)msn.com or 214-693-9126.

Phone Volunteers

Sign up to help the Adminstrative Assistants answer the phones. Volunteer to answer the phones only 1 hour a week (you can sign up for more if you like.) Contact Traci Hughes, thughes(at)standrewumc.org.

Communion Servers

Volunteers are needed for assistance in serving Communion during worship services. Servers work on a prearranged schedule. Contact Guy Burgoon, gdburgoon(at)emgroup.info.

Greeters

One of the many positive comments we receive from visitors is they feel warmly welcomed as they walk through the doors by the Greeters stationed throughout the church. Greeters are asked to be at their stations 20 minutes prior to the start of worship services. If you would like to be a part of this welcoming ministry, contact Gerald Smith, gerald_r_smith(at)aon.com, 972-378-4796, or 972-754-4607.

Parking Ministry (quarterly rotation)

Be a part of this fun new ministry! Ideally we would like volunteers to cover two services: 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. You can wear casual clothes or whatever you feel comfortable in. There will be training at the church. The date and time will be determined after we have enough people signed up. We will contact you with a date and time. Volunteering will not take any extra time out of your Sunday. This will give you an opportunity to serve the church while you are already here. You will be able to attend the services and Sunday School and will not have to be out in the parking lot all morning. For more information, contact Ron Weaver, mach173(at)aol.com or Rev. Edlen Cowley, ecowley(at)standrewumc.org.

Audio/Visual Support (once a month on average)

Additional volunteers are needed to run sound and assist with visual presentation in worship on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. Training is provided. Contact Dan Smith, dsmith(at)standrewumc.org.

Guides (rotational basis)

Our guides are stationed on Sunday mornings throughout the church to assist visitors and members with basic questions, such as: Where is the 5th grade Sunday School room? Where is Piro Hall? We provide clipboards with all the information as well as any special events that day so you are in the know. Easy training available on any Sunday. Contact Kay Richardson, krichardson(at)standrewumc.org.

Friday Bulletin Preparation Team

This lively group helps with the finishing preparations of the weekly Worship Bulletin. The task is simple: insert the weekly Bible Study into the folded outer shell of the bulletin. The group meets each week from 10:00–11:00 a.m. Contact Scott Ayers, sayers(at)standrewumc.org.

Worship Bulletin Folding

A volunteer is needed on late Thursday afternoon to help with folding the weekly Worship Bulletin. Some knowledge of (and aptitude with) office machines is desirable, but training is available. Contact Scott Ayers, sayers(at)standrewumc.org.
